Loine Standley Elder passed away January 21, 2026 at the age of 96 years. The youngest of four sisters, Loine was born December 22, 1929 in Dexter, New Mexico to John F. Standley and Etta Northcutt. She grew up in Hico and Arlington, Texas, graduating from Arlington High School in 1947. Loine was employed by the Arlington Independent School District until her retirement in 1996. She was an expert seamstress and an excellent cook, she
loved to read and enjoyed watching football, baseball, and volleyball. Loine was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Thomas J. Elder. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Nina Elder Miller and her husband Brian Miller, Phd, their son Andrew Miller,
her son Pat Elder and his wife Jo Lynn Elder, their daughter Cayce Elder Benson and her
husband Jon Benson.
