M.T. Pieratt, resident of Arlington, TX, went home to his heavenly reward on July 7th. He was born April 1, 1938 in Byers, TX, one of eight children, to Kern Pieratt and Lois Choate Pieratt. He grew up in a home with a strong faith and love of the Lord, along with his sense of humor, quick wit, and love of a good laugh, all which guided him throughout his 77 years.
On June 1, 1957, he married Roenia Doris Duckett of Byers, and they moved to Wichita Falls, Texas to start their lives together. He was a loving husband for 58 years, an amazing father of 3 children, and a doting Papa of 4 grandchildren.
A self-taught man with outgoing demeanor and strong work ethic, he managed to be a successful businessman for almost 50 years in the industrial supply business, owning several companies, his last being American Industrial Supply.
His impact was far-reaching on his community because of his heart for giving and helping those less fortunate, which he did often, without need of acknowledgement. M.T. worked tireless to help his church family, supervising the initial building of Evangel Temple on Maplewood, as well as the rebuilding after the tornado of 1979. He was one of those rare men whose actions reflected his words. He was a man of incredible internal strength, who was constantly defying the odds when it came to his health and what doctors and medicine said was possible.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers, brothers, G.K. Pieratt and Jackie Pieratt, and sister Nita Eastes. He is survived by his wife Roenia Pieratt of Arlington, TX; daughter and son-in-law Sheila and John Curlin of Keller, TX; daughter Pamela Pieratt of Arlington; son Paul Brian Pieratt of Wichita Falls; grandsons Chris Curlin, Alex Curlin, and Brandon Pieratt of Wichita Falls; granddaughter Trish Pieratt of Arlington, TX; sisters and brothers-in-law Juanita and David Moore of Mustang, OK; Sue and Phillip Duncan of Burleson, TX; sisters-in-law Patricia Pieratt and Marva Pieratt; brother-in-law Dale Eastes, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
Services will be Friday, July 10th at 1:00 PM at Fossil Creek Community Church, 6700 N. Riverside Drive, Ft Worth, TX, 76137.
