

Marjorie was raised in Clarksville, Texas, and graduated from Clarksville High School in 1947. In 1948, she married Gordon Knowles, and together they had two children.
Throughout her life, Marjorie worked as a switchboard operator, homemaker, and later as a cashier in a high school cafeteria. She took pride in her work and in caring for her family.
In her spare time, Marjorie enjoyed line dancing, playing dominoes with her two sisters, spending time with family, watching Texas Rangers baseball, participating in social clubs, attending church and Bible study, reading, and especially spending time with her grandsons.
Marjorie will always be remembered by her family and friends as a woman of elegance who was caring, kind, and welcoming to everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Knowles; her parents, Andrew Raney and Bertie Rice; and her four older siblings.
She is survived by her son, Stan Knowles and wife Linda; her daughter, Robin Danford and husband Chris; four grandsons, Chris Knowles and wife Melissa, Adam Knowles and wife Debjani, Ryan Danford, and Nicholas Danford; and two great-granddaughters, Avery and Hannah.
