Mark Adam McCommas, 60, of Denton, Texas, passed away December 27, 2023 surrounded by his family. Mark was born to Bobby Joe McCommas and Barbara Ann McCommas on October 14, 1963, in Dallas, TX, and was raised in Arlington, TX.
Growing up he and his family did lots of traveling to Colorado, New Mexico, and Florida. He enjoyed exploring, and catching fish, snakes, frogs, and turtles at his childhood home. He got his GED, and later went on for a semester in Jr College. Mark built a successful locksmithing business, Marks Lock n Key. He was a God fearing man who loved attending and helping in the church. He loved driving around and feeding the homeless. He taught himself to play the guitar and shared his gift with many people. Mark enjoyed going to concerts, traveling, fishing, camping, and riding his motorcycles. He loved having the wind in his face, and that is how he got his nickname, Chopper.
Mark was preceded in passing by his mother Barbara Ann Rose and step father Web Rose Jr, and father Bobby Joe McCommas. He is survived by his fiancé Dianne Schwartz; bonus mom, Anne McCommas; the mother of his children Kathy Carboni; son, Kerry McCommas; daughter, Kasy Hale and son in law Clayton Hale and his grandchildren, Sutton and Colson Hale; siblings; sister, Karen McMurrough and husband Joe; sister, Kimberly Branning and husband Mark; and multiple nieces and nephews.
He will be missed more than words can explain. He will be remembered for his strong faith in Jesus, the compassion he showed others, his amazing stories, and his love for his friends, family, and fiancé. Anytime we hear a song you played or a motorcycle rev; we will think of you. In the famous last words of Chopper Mark… “ Go with God.”
