

Services for Marvin C Robinson, 89, of Arlington will be 2:00 pm, Friday, November 6, 2015 at Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas. Serving as pallbearers will be Rob Sprang, Ethan Sprang, Pete Moore, Bob Dove, Victor Manuel, Matt Clopton and Mark Kirby. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation, 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, November 5 at the funeral home.
Marvin was born November 7, 1925 in Cooper, Texas to Marvin Robinson Sr. and Claudia Arthur Robinson. He joined the United States Navy August 5, 1943 and served during World War II receiving the WWII Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w Four Stars, and the Philippine Liberation Campaign Ribbon with One Star. Marvin married Mary Frances Couch on July 5, 1946. She preceded him in death on July 29, 1989.
Marvin was an engineering technician and spent his working and retirement days building planes. He was active in retirement and spent many hours with other former military buddies re-building military airplanes and recreations of planes from the era. These planes were lovingly donated to museums all across the country to inspire future generations for years to come.
Mr. Robinson married Willowdean Ballew Moore on May 13, 1993 in San Antonio. They were appropriately married at a ship reunion for the USS Waldron, on which he served, with the Skipper George Peckham (later Admiral) preforming the ceremony.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Willowdean Moore Robinson of Arlington, one daughter, Bonnie Dove and her husband Robert, two grandchildren, Mary Dove and Sara Clopton, great-grandchildren, Gala Masters, Shelby Clopton and Matthew Clopton, two brothers, Edward Robinson and Gene Robinson, and by two step-children, Pete Moore and Ginny Sprang.
