

Mary was born in Blum, Texas, July 8, 1929 the seventh child of eight children born to Ida Edd Shoemaker and Rosa Lee Sanders Shoemaker. In 1950 she met the love of her life and future husband, Howard Cornelius. Together they raised three children, Ronnie, Joyce and Linda. They were married for 57 years before his passing June 10, 2010. Mary worked in the factory of the Justin Boot Company and retired at age 62. Throughout her life she made family a priority. She was the “behind the scenes” wife of a great man, happy to simply keep family well cared for. Family was her life and she was the best mother anyone could ever dream of having.

Survivors include: son Ronnie Howard Cornelius and wife Billie of Lipan, daughter Linda Cornelius of Corinth, sister Lottie Snider and husband Tom of Burleson, grandchildren: Michael West, Jenny Waltman Arnold and husband Clint, Bobby Joe Waltman and wife Courtney, Haley Waltman, Derrick Waltman, Amanda Cornelius Lewis and husband William, Kris Kober, Kurt Kober, great-grandchidlren: Chase West, Stephen Cole West, Grace Arnold, Wyatt Arnold Collins Lewis, and Duke Lewis.
