Mary Madelyn Linden, age 80, passed away on August 21st, 2025 in Mansfield, Texas. She was born on March 6th, 1945 in New Iberia, Louisiana to Anthony and Mabel Brown. Mary was raised in New Iberia, Louisiana and attended Henderson High School. She married August Paul Linden in 1970 and the couple had two children. She was a wonderful, loving wife and mother. She nurtured her children and grandchildren alongside her loving husband, August. Mary made everyone that she came in contact with, whether family or not, feel cared for and loved. She was our family’s backbone. She fought hard but now she has gained her wings and is at rest.
Mary was known for spending lots of time with her grandchildren. She was always attending their events, visiting museums, planning picnics, and of course cooking for our weekly Sunday dinners. She was also an avid interior decorator. Her décor was top notch and fit for any magazine cover. It was something that she loved doing and it showed.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Melana D, Linden of Arlington, and four grandchildren: Kayla S. Linden, Kourtland S. Linden, Janee’ L. Linden, Sierra A. Linden. She also leaves two sisters, Eva R. Brown Lewis (spouse, Joseph Lewis), and Catherine J. Brown Johnson. She also treasured extended family members, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, godchildren and a host of relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, August Paul Linden. Her parents, Anthony Brown and Mabel Brown. Her son, Adrian Paul Linden. Her siblings, Nettie E. Brown Livings, Martha L. Brown Fontenette, and Edward B. Brown.
