

Mary Gwen Regan, age 88, was born on March 21, 1937 in Port Lavaca, Texas, the family home town through the years. She graduated from Port Lavaca High School, where she was voted most athletic. She continued her education at Kilgore Junior College and North Texas State University.
Mary Gwen, known by her middle name Gwen, was a wonderful artist, even though she never admitted she was so good at her skill. She lived in Houston for a period of time before moving to Rio Rancho, New Mexico, where she lived for about 47 years. Her brother moved her to Arlington, Texas about 9 years ago, so he could better provide and take care of her. She passed away on October 15, 2025 in Arlington.
Mary Gwen was preceded in death by her father, William Patrick Regan, Jr. and her mother Gwendolyn Hatch Regan, both of Port Lavaca, Texas, her brother William Patrick Regan, Ill of Albuquerque, New Mexico, her brother Edgar Hatch Regan of Houston, Texas, her grandparents and aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her brother Robert Michael Regan of Arlington, her nephew Kevin Patrick Regan of Houston, his two sons KP and Cooper, and numerous cousins.
While her mother was a wonderful pianist, Mary Gwen will mostly be remembered for her wonderful artwork, including pencil sketches, watercolors and paintings.
