Michael John Weis

Michael J. Weis, 71, left this earthly home on September 11, 2023. He was born on May 16, 1952 in Hurst, Texas to Albert and Louise Weis. Mike was raised in Hurst and attended and graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 1970. He was a Material Handler at Vought for over 30 years. In his free time Mike enjoyed, bird watching, hiking and riding his bike. He loved to watch the Texas Rangers and singing while playing his guitar at church or wherever he was needed. Mike’s family and friends will always remember him as a loving family man that was generous with his time. He could often be found giving others rides to church on Sunday mornings; his last church home was Central Baptist Church of Arlington where he volunteered and was a deacon of the church. Mike spent much of his free time helping others who were less fortunate than him.

Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley; parents, Albert Weis and Louise Bordua, step-son Eugeen.

Left to cherish his memory, sons, Matthew Weis and wife Kelli of Granbury Texas, Phillip Weis and wife Kelli of Sanger, Texas; daughter Shalee Hall of Arlington Texas. Grandchildren, Amy Bourn and husband Andy, Rebecca, Jacob, Gage, Kortnee, Jewel and Hunter; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Bowen.

A visitation for Michael will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A committal service will occur Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Parkdale Cemetery, 701 Mary Street, Arlington, TX 76010.
