

Mildred "Millie" Price, age 96, of Bedford, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5th, 2023, with her children and grandchildren close. She was born in Talmo, Georgia on December 7th, 1926, to Junius Mitchell Richardson and Nancy McNeal Richardson as the ninth of ten children. Mildred attended elementary and junior high school in Woolsey, Georgia. In 1944, Mildred (later in life nicknamed "Millie"} graduated from Spalding High School in Griffin, Georgia. She attended secretarial school and moved to Atlanta, Georgia to work. Mildred faithfully attended Moreland Avenue Baptist Church where she met Forney John Ashworth, Jr. They married on October 4th, 1946 and made their home in Atlanta. They had three children: Steven Lynn in 1949; John Gary in 1952; and Terri Ann in 1957. Mildred and Forney lived in East Atlanta until they parted in 1968.
Millie met Thomas Jackson Price, Jr. (Jack) as she entered him on duty as a Real Estate Specialist for Housing and Urban Development (HUD). They became great friends and were married on May 14th, 1971. Jack's position with HUD was transferred to Fort Worth, Texas. Millie, Jack and Terri moved to Arlington, Texas in September of 1971.
Millie had a career as a Personnel Specialist with several government offices such as the Center for Disease Control (CDC}, Health, Education and Welfare (HEW} and Health and Human Services (HHS} in Atlanta. She transferred to Dallas, Texas in 1971, and retired in 1981.
She was involved in many organizations during her lifetime and mainly her church, New World United Methodist in Arlington. She loved to sing and was in the church choir, Sunday School, and Prime Timers retirement group. Millie was a volunteer for many years at Arlington Memorial Hospital and a member of the Red Hat Society! She loved cooking and baking for others. Her specialty was banana pudding, but she could cook anything. Millie would sit for hours reading cookbooks! She also had a passion for African violets, and they would constantly bloom for her.
Millie loved her family! She was survived by her children: son, Gary Ashworth and daughter, Terri Ashworth Jutras (Michael}. Her son, Steve Ashworth passed away in 1990 (now Suzanne O'Neil). Stepsons like sons: Tom Price (Toni}, Jim Price (Cathy) and Bob Price (Linda}.
Grandchildren: Steve Ashworth (Kera), Jason Ashworth (Becki) and Amy Ashworth Long (Matthew); Stephanie Jutras Lynch (Kevin}, Allison Jutras Taylor (David), Kelli Jutras Adams (Chris} and Ashley Jutras Cunningham (Travis}; Winston Price (Jen), Deanna Price Boyanton; Jason Price (Katie), Jamie Price Williams (Taylor), David Price (Montaya); Robert Price and Courtney Price.
Great-Grandchildren: Joshua and Aaron Ashworth; Isaac, Jayden and Norah Ashworth; Ashlyn and Reagan Long; Brooks, Ashton, Case, Banks and Berkley Lynch; Cooper and Millie James Taylor; Riley and Ruby Adams; Tessa and Griffin Cunningham; Ethan and Cadyn Price; Adriana and Anniston Boyanton; Anna (Adam Johnson), Jack, Sophia and Luke Price; Wyatt, Faith and Brooks Williams; Elijah and Harper Price.
Millie has one surviving sister, Wilonell White (almost 102) in Griffin, Georgia and many cherished nieces and nephews that will miss her, especially: Jimmy Richardson, Keith Richardson, Nancy Mobley, Sandy Westmoreland, Mike and Holly Quinn, Donna Bridges and Patsy Todd Cornwell.
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS: The visitation for Millie Price will be held from 1:00pm-2:00pm on Saturday, August 19th, 2023, at New World United Methodist Church, 2201 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas, 76012, in the Fellowship Hall. The Celebration Service will start at 2:00pm at the same location in the Sanctuary. Interment will follow the service at Moore Funeral Home, Mausoleum - Court of Hope, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas.
