Mildred Whitmore was born June 7, 1918, to Cordelia and Lee Daniel Garrett in Spring Creek. She spent her adolescent and teen years in and around Spring Creek, where she graduated from high school. On June 9, 1940, she married Walter Whitmore in Midland. They spent the majority of their married life in the Odessa-Midland area where they raised their two daughters. In 1985, they moved to Arlington to be near their daughters. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Mimi was a long-time member of Woods Chapel Baptist Church in Arlington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, her parents and her four siblings.
Survivors: She is survived by her daughters, Judy and husband Wendell Drinkard of Odessa, Tx; Sharon and husband Billy Miller of Arlington, Tx; grandsons Lt. Col. Mark Drinkard, USAF (Ret.) of Alamogordo, NM; Eric Drinkard of Odessa, Tx; great granddaughter Lauren Drinkard of Euless, Tx, great grandson Jacob Drinkard of Keller, Tx; and numerous nieces and nephews and many beloved friends.
