With deep love and grateful hearts, we celebrate the homegoing of Norma Jean Lopez, a devoted woman of God, who entered the loving arms of Jesus on November 13, 2025, at the age of 63. Though our hearts feel her absence, we rejoice knowing she is now in her eternal home, healed, whole, and worshiping her Savior face-to-face.
Norma Jean was born in San Antonio, Texas, to her father Manuel Benavidez and her mother Evangelina Moreno. From the beginning, her life was marked by sweetness, humility, and a radiant love that touched everyone she encountered. In 1981, she married the love of her life, Guadalupe Lopez Jr., and together they built a beautiful family rooted in faith, joy, and unwavering devotion.
Norma lived her life with passion and energy. She loved working out, aerobics, zumba, walking, and participating in any and every running event she could. She embraced life with enthusiasm, always ready for a new adventure—traveling, enjoying the beach, and spending treasured time with her family. Her spirit was simple, sweet, and full of grace. She had a heart as big as the world, extending love, kindness, and encouragement to everyone she knew.
Above all, Norma loved to worship. She treasured every moment she could lift her hands and praise the Lord. Her faith in Jesus was the foundation of her life, and she shared His love boldly and beautifully. Her greatest joys were her Savior and her family, whom she prayed for, encouraged, and cherished deeply.
Norma is survived by her loving husband Guadalupe Lopez Jr.; her son Aaron Lopez; her daughter Amy Jean Lopez; her granddaughter Emylee Jean Saldana; her parents Manuel and Evangelina Benavidez; her sisters Deanna Benavidez and Angie Rinehart; and her brother Michael Benavidez. She is preceded in glory by loved ones who awaited her arrival in heaven.
While our hearts mourn, our spirits celebrate—because Norma has finished her race with grace, faith, and a heart full of Jesus. Her legacy of love will continue to shine through her family and all who knew her.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day…”
