Ouida Kathleen Starkey

Ouida Kathleen (Young) Starkey was born on December 21, 1925 in Dallas, TX. Ouida passed away at home on September 30, 2013 with her family at her side. She married Bill Starkey on June 30, 1946 in Dallas, TX. Together they built a loving marriage for 67 years that was blessed with three daughters: Bonnie Juanita, Judith Annette and Donna Kathleen. Those close to Ouida describe her as a devoted wife and doting mother. Ouida enjoyed years of needle point, sewing, and quilting. She also had made many friends from her Sunday School class at First Baptist of Arlington. Ouida & Bill were also members of the Ft. Worth Roadrunners Square Dance Club for many years. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Ouida is proceeded in death by her parents, Alta Dona and Gerald Young, and two daughters Bonnie Romberger and Judith Allen.

She is survived by her loving husband Bill Starkey; daughter Donna Strawn; 3 grandchildren: Brock Allen, John Seth Romberger, and Austin Allen and wife Sarah; 2 great-grandchildren: Aven and Sydnee Allen; sons-in-law: John Romberger and Carl Strawn. The family would like to extend an invitation for all that knew and loved Ouida to come and celebrate a life that was taken from us.

Visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 12:30 pm at the Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Dr., Arlington, TX.

Ouida's final resting place will be at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
