Patricia Ann Preston, age 81, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, with her beloved children by her side. Patricia was born on April 6, 1944, in Memphis, Tennessee, and later made her home in Arlington, Texas, where she devoted her life to what mattered most to her—her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl McGhee and Mae McGhee Giddens, her brother Bo McGhee, and her husband, Loy Preston, Jr., whom she loved deeply.
Patricia is survived by her son Michael Preston and his wife Martha, and their children William and Ryan; her daughter Paige Galpin and her husband Robert, and their children Preston and Anna; her brother Jimmy McGhee; her sister Ruthie Mink; and her nephews Dustin Mink and Ryan Mink.
Patricia’s greatest passion was her children and grandchildren. A devoted stay-at-home mom, she spent her life doing everything she possibly could for her kids, always putting their needs before her own. To her grandchildren, she was lovingly known as Gram Gram and Gaga, titles she wore proudly and lived up to every single day. She was the very best grandma—present, loving, and endlessly supportive.
She showed her love through food and family gatherings and was especially known for her cheesecake, a favorite that became a symbol of her care and generosity. Patricia was kind, strong, and fiercely devoted to her family.
A graveside service will be held at Moore Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, located at 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. The service is scheduled for Tuesday, February 3rd, at 1:00 p.m.
Patricia’s legacy lives on through the family she loved so fiercely and the countless ways she showed that love every day.
