

A woman of style and grace, Ramona was awarded Mrs. Congeniality in the 1982 Mrs. Alabama Pageant where she wore her own hand made red sequin evening gown. She was honored when asked if the poem "What Is A Beautiful Woman" of which she wrote and read as her talent for the judges could be used as a permanent poem to be read at every Mrs. Alabama Pageant. Ramona was a excellent seamstress who regularly sewed clothing for her children, she was also very comfortable as a public speaker and was published in Poems of the World and Arts Advocate as well as a CD: "Simply Savage" and a book "Voices in the Wind" illustrated by Arlaine Hamm Berkes. She was a member of Arlington Arts Association, Arlington Women's Club, Arlington Story League and the Famous Poets Society. Ramona also served as Past President of New Millennium Poets and the Poetry Society of Texas. Even with such gifts, talents and passions, Ramona's greatest love was the time she spent with her family.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, Granny and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ramona was preceded in death by her husband Tom Savage in July 2013, her granddaughter Tiffany Brooke Savage and all 10 of her siblings.
She is survived by her 4 children, Donna Berkes, Mike Berkes and wife Arlaine, Kelly Savage and wife Margie and Rex Savage and wife Danni; grandchildren, Kerri Stuart, Chris McMorran, Bridgette Berkes, Clay Berkes, Renee Kirby, Aaron Berkes, Derek Savage, Robert Kirby, April Berkes Valdez, Tommy Savage, Rebecca Savage, Mary Savage and John Michael Savage; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; numerous other extended family and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, June 7, 2019 at Moore Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington, TX.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
