Born on June 19, 1971, Rick lived a life rooted in loyalty, strength, and deep love for his family. To many, he was Rick. To some, he was Ricky. To his family, he was the steady one, the one who worked hard, showed up, and carried more than he ever let on. He lived a life defined by loyalty, strength, and deep devotion to his family. He was the kind of man who protected fiercely, loved quietly but deeply, and showed up every single time it mattered.
He shared 32 beautiful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Lesley Llorente. Their marriage was built on commitment, resilience, and a love that endured life’s challenges, especially over this past year.
Rick was the son of Antonio and Milva Llorente. At 90 years old, Milva remains a cherished part of the family. The foundation his parents gave him shaped the man he became.
Family meant everything to Rick. He shared a close and meaningful bond with his sister-in-law, Kristy, and her husband, Brent Hroch, and he loved being an uncle to his nephews Ethan, Matthew, and Dylan Hroch. He took pride in watching them grow and cared deeply about the people they were becoming.
He was also a loving son-in-law to Helen Valadez and the late Gilbert Valadez. He valued family on both sides and remained deeply connected to them throughout his life.
He is also survived by his brother Roberto Llorente and sister-in-law Kathy, and his brother-in-law Gabriel Valadez and sister-in-law Elizabeth and their kids, who were important and valued parts of his life.
Rick was a proud and devoted father to Andrew, Nick, and Alyssa, and a loving father-in-law to Hayda and Emily. His children were his heart. He carried the responsibility of providing and protecting with quiet strength. His presence made his family feel safe, and his love, though sometimes unspoken, was always deeply felt.
One of the greatest joys of his final year was knowing he would become a grandfather for the very first time. He was so proud and excited to welcome his grandchild through Emily, and that anticipation brought him light during difficult days. Although he will not be here in person to hold that baby, his love and legacy will forever surround his grandchild.
After being diagnosed with cancer a little over a year ago, Rick faced his illness with courage and determination. Even in discomfort and exhaustion, he thought first about his family. His strength during his fight reflected the same resilience that defined his entire life.
He also leaves behind his dog, Max, who may have annoyed him more than once, but whom he loved deeply all the same. Max was a constant presence in his life, whether Rick admitted it or not.
Rick’s presence was steady, protective, sometimes stubborn, and always rooted in love. His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but the lessons he taught, the strength he modeled, and the love he gave will continue through his family forever.
He will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
