

Robert was born October 18, 1956 in Aiken, South Carolina to Waymond Jolly Brown and Yoshie Takahara. Known by close friends and family as Bob or Bobby, he grew up as a military child with his dad serving in the Air Force and experienced rich memories of living in Japan and Belgium before his family took roots in Grand Prairie during his teenage years. Bob had a love for music and a passion for playing his guitar, and as a youth, enjoyed playing foosball. He accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior as a young adult.
Bob studied at Lindsey-Cooper Refrigeration School and Northlake College and retired in December 2019 after 37 years with Bridgford Foods. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather – leaving fond memories of family togetherness. He was a fun-loving person that enjoyed making others happy. Bob married his high school sweetheart Carla Elaine Rogers of Grand Prairie on November 26, 1980.
Bob is survived by his mother, Yoshie Brown of Grand Prairie; wife, Carla Brown; son, Robert (Robby) Brown Jr.; daughter, Alisa LeFon El-Jilani, and her husband, Saif; granddaughter, Miya; grandson, Levi, of Arlington; sister, Gwendolyn (Gwen) Reynolds, and her husband, Reggie, of Sulphur Springs; and brother, Rev. Michael Brown, and his wife, Lori, of Portland, Oregon; brothers-in-law, Eddie Rogers and Gregg Rogers, and their spouses, Gayle and Barbara, respectively; 11 nieces and nephews and their spouses; and 14 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Waymond (Sonny) Brown; brother, James (Jimmy) Brown; and nephew, Christopher (Chris) Reynolds.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2 pm both at Moore Funeral Home, and ending with a graveside service afterwards in adjacent Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington, Texas on Friday, February 28th.
