Robert Wayne Parrish Sr.

Robert Wayne Parrish Sr., 83, of Whitehouse, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016 in Whitehouse Texas. Robert was born December 13, 1932 in Sweetwater, Texas to Theodore Parrish Sr. and Wilma Helen DeFriece Parrish. He graduated from Amon Carter Riverside high school and served in the United States Army. Robert married Dorothy Nelson on May 15, 1954 in Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina and started a career in women’s shoe sales. Mr. Parrish went on to become the owner of multiple locations of Rogers Shoes in Arlington, Dallas Fort Worth and Tyler.

His wife Dorothy, preceded him in death December 17, 2006. He was also preceded in death by two brothers,Ted Parrish and Anthony (Tony) Parrish.

Survivors include his children Robert Wayne Parrish Jr., Paul Dana Parrish, Donna Freeman and husband John Freeman, and Mark Antony Parrish and wife Magui Parrish, and Christopher Adam Parrish and wife Lulu Parrish, grandchildren: Robert Wayne III, Aimee Munday, Tony Parrish, and Dorothy Parrish, great-grandchildren: David Payne, Josiah Munday, brothers: Lanny Parrish, Cary Parrish, Michael Parrish and Dana Parrish.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 at Moore Funeral Home. Those wishing to give to a charity are encouraged to donate to Heart to Heart Hospice of Tyler.
