Romelia Perez Saldana

Romelia Saldana, an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday December 18th, 2021. Some of you may know her as Renee or as “the life of the party.”

Renee was born on February 10th, 1951, in Georgewest, TX to Eloisa and Ezequiel Perez. She married the love of her life on May 10th, 1967, and together they had five children – Cesar Jr, Melissa, Cesar III, Gustavo, and Benjamin. She was a dedicated homemaker, loved spending time in the kitchen, was crafty and created many memorable crochet and quilted heirlooms. She loved to dance to Tejano and oldies, however, her all-time favorite pastime was using daubers or being on a slot machine.

Renee was the family backbone; her love of family was displayed by her support to extended family members who could always rely on her for anything.

Renee was preceded in death by her one and only Cesar Saldana Sr. As well as her two sons Cesar Jr and Benjamin Saldana. She is survived by her children: Melissa Belmontes - husband Rogelio, Cesar Saldana III – partner Misty, and Gustavo Saldana – partner Kelly. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Melissa Martinez and husband Benjamin, Rogelio Belmontes and husband Travis, Beatrice Belmontes, Zachary Chambers, Destiny Saldana, as well as Arnold James, Hanna, and Benjamin Edward. Her great grandchildren: Madison Martinez, Benjamin Martinez, Lucille Martinez, and Emilia Belmontes-Merrell.

A visitation for Romelia will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cathedral Guadalupe, 2215 Ross Ave, Dallas, TX 75201. A committal service will occur Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Mount Olivet Cemetery Fort Worth, 2301 N. Sylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76111.
