

Sara Jean Reh Smith, a registered nurse, passed away on September 25, 2013. Sara was born on October 6, 1936 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the fourth of seven children of John and Agnes Reh. Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Smith.
Sara was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Wilkes-Barre in 1957.
She served as an R.N. for many years working in the specialty of Infection Control, eventually retiring in 1996 from Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.
Sara loved her family and friends and liked to travel and was an avid reader. She was a member of The Uncommon Reader Book Club and the Red Hat Women’s Society.
She believed in her own kind of prayer and was devoted to St. Anthony because
“He’s a good guy.” and also had a guardian angel named “Pax” which means “Peace”.
She is survived by her children: son, Robert Shaw and wife Ginny of Lewisville, Texas; son, Tom Shaw and wife Samantha of Austin, Texas; daughter, Rebecca and husband Don Morris of Arlington, Texas and her grandchildren, Elizabeth Shaw Knobel, Lewisville; Ian Shaw, Austin; Matthew Morris and wife, Danielle of Nashville, Tennessee; Anna Morris and husband David Moore of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. and her great-granddaughter, Kylie Harris Knobel of Lewisville, Texas and great- grandson, Harlan Graham Morris of Nashville, Tennessee and by her sisters Mary Lou Ebersole and husband Richard of St Petersburg, Florida and Joan Campano and husband Ernie of St Petersburg, Florida.
The family wishes to thank the nurses who cared for her over the last several months.

Liturgy of the Word followed by interment of ashes will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 4, 2013 at St. Maria Goretti church.
