Born in 1926 in Japan, Tatsuko grew up as part of a solid well established family and travelled through Asia. She married at an early age and raised 3 children, Kikuko, Chizuko and Naozumi. Divorced, she met and married James Williams in 1961 and moved to the US shortly thereafter. Her two daughters soon followed and join them in California. Tatsuko became a US Citizen in 1965 and lived in Southern California with James until their move to Texas. While in California she pursued her love of dance and became the leader of a line dance troop that visited retirement homes and nursing homes to entertain the residents.
She and James travelled to Europe and back to Japan to visit her son and family a number of times over the years and together enjoyed slowing down right here in Bedford.
We are now laying her down to rest next to James in the presence of her daughters, their husbands, 3 granddaughters, and husbands and 3 great grandchildren. Her son, his wife, their 2 children and 4 grand children are in Japan and could not be here with us today.
Tatsuko leaves behind a legacy of love and caring - caring for her family but also for anyone who ever came into her home. It is a fact that “no one ever left her house hungry”. She was an excellent cook but also took in friends and relatives during hard times and helped them emotionally and they were all better off when they left. She will be missed by all who ever came in contact with her.
