

Theresa Brice Wolters fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. She was born in Junction City, Kansas in February 1928 to James A. Brice and Catherine Tully. She graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She subsequently worked as a nurse in an Omaha hospital until she met the love of her life, Francis S. Wolters. They married on May 1, 1952. Theresa and Frank lived in Junction City, Kansas, and moved to Arlington in 1963. Together they raised four children.
Theresa was active in St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Arlington. She held many callings while there, including the Director of Religious Education, member of the Marriage Tribunal of the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth, and most recently, an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. She was a member of the St. Maria Goretti Women’s Guild, the Encore Club in Arlington and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, on March 18, 2014, her parents, her sisters, Mary C. Owen and Elizabeth R. Shumate, and her brother, James T. Brice.
Theresa is survived by her four children, Anne Elsweiler (John) of Logan, Utah, Stephen Wolters (Marla) of Sugar Land, Philip Wolters of Mansfield, and Pamela Marchitti (Edward) of League City; four grandchildren, Brice and Alison Wolters, and John and Paul Marchitti; and nieces, Toni Owen, Christine Feasley, and Katherine Owen.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 30, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Arlington. Commital will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery following the Funeral Mass. Visitation will be at 6:00 PM, Thursday, January 29, at the church, followed by the rosary at 7:00 PM.
