He was born to Edward and Edith Chaplin in Marble Corner, Indiana on February 12, 1933. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Rosemary, Louis, and John, his wife of 65 years, Joyce Louise (Cate), and his eldest daughter, Daralynn Louise Chaplin.
He is survived by his son, Ric Chaplin, and daughter, Laura Clingan and son-in-law, Brad Clingan, and daughter, Janet Harris and his very special friend and companion, Jo Gibbs. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Kathryn Nguyen, David Phillips, Alex Harris, Jake Harris, Alan Clingan, Randy Harris, and Jonathan Clingan along with 11 great grandchildren and 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
Life was one great big adventure for Bill. He had places to go, people to see, and things to do, all over the world via planes and motor home. He never met a stranger he couldn’t have a drink with.
