He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Gilligan McQuatters. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara McQuatters Russell; his sons, William David McQuatters and wife Gina (Bianchini) McQuatters; Michael Roger McQuatters and his wife Deborah (Lynn) McQuatters, and John Patrick McQuatters and wife Angela (Shockley) McQuatters; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many close friends.
Bill was born and raised in Topeka, KS, the son of James and Clara McQuatters, after moving to San Antonio, he finally settled in Arlington in 1966 to raise his family.
He was an avid poker player and was a five-time qualifier for the online World Series of Poker. Bill joined the Optimist Club of Arlington in 1983 and served as its president from 1996-1997 and remained actively involved with the organization until 2015.
A visitation for William will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM, Moore Funeral Home. A committal service will follow the service Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Parkdale Cemetery, 701 S Mary St, Arlington, Texas.
