William “Bill” Donald Rhoten Jr., 77, of Fort Worth Texas entered into his eternal rest on Monday, January 23, 2023. Bill was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 24,1945 to William Donald Rhoten and Frances Louise DeArman Rhoten.
Bill was born and raised in Fort Worth and graduated from Poly Technic High School in 1964. He loved to joke, “We didn’t win many games on the football field, but we never lost a fight in the parking lot!” Bill had quite the sense of humor and loved making people laugh. He joined the Airforce in 1966 and served in the Vietnam War. After leaving the military, Bill met the love of his life, Gail Conaway of Denton, TX., at the Fort Worth Stockshow and Rodeo. Shortly after, the two married on October 20, 1972.
Following getting married Bill was employed with FWISD, where he worked as a painter. Then he went to work for Metro Paint and Wallpaper, where he eventually became the owner. Bill was a hard worker; sometimes he worked three jobs. Getting up early to throw a morning paper route for the Fort Worth Star Telegram, then going to work at Metro Paint, and some evenings and weekends he would paint for other contract jobs.
Bill had a big imagination, a great sense of humor, and was always the life of the party. He was generous, kind, compassionate, and always there to lend a helping hand. Most importantly, he was a strong man of faith and loved to serve the Lord through his many acts of kindness and generosity.
