Winfred Doyle Green

Winfred Doyle Green, 93, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 27, 217 at Moore Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Mosser officiating. Burial will follow in Moore Memorial Gardens. No public visitation is planned.

Winfred was born December 12, 1923 in Centre, Alabama to Carl Lester Green and Lucille Foster Green. He graduated from Cherokee County High school and was drafted into the Army at the age of 18 to served three years in World War II until its end. He married Helen L Smith and spent his working years as Machinist Lead Man for LTV Aircraft Corporation. Winfred and Helen were long time members of the First United Methodist Church of Arlington. He loved working in his garden and yard.

Winfred was preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael Wayne Green and two sisters, Christine Ash and Nell Garmon.

Mr. Green is survived by his wife Helen Green of Arlington and by sisters Sue Bunch and Geri Grimes and brothers Kenneth Green and Harold Green, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family, all of whom will miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the First United Methodist Church of Arlington Endowment Fund in memory of Michael Wayne Green, 313 N Ctr, Arlington, TX 76011.
