Yvonne Carol Emanuel

Yvonne Carol Emanuel was born on November 10, 1952 in Burtonwood, England and passed away on August 26, 2019 in Arlington, Texas. Yvonne was a retired supervisor from the Social Security Administration for which she had worked over forty years. She loved to travel and spent her retirement days traveling near and far. Yvonne was a member in good standing of the Carter Metropolitan CME congregation in Fort Worth, Texas where she helped in many ways including creating the church newsletter and educational ministries. She loved education and supported the public school district where she lived through frequent donations and serving on the Arlington ISD Financial Futures Committee. Yvonne was a past State Governor and current member of the South Dallas Business and Professional Women’s Club, Inc. remaining active until her death. She took pride in presenting the yearly family scholarship in the memory of her late father and selecting the student recipient who would receive that scholarship each year. Yvonne loved genealogy and was a member of the East Texas Historical Society and shared her research with the National Institute for Genealogical Research. She was a current member of the National Association of Professional Genealogists. Most recently, she was recognized for her work and presented a podcast on her research on the National Archives and Beyond Podcast entitled “Census Records of the South”. Her research specialties included the Civil War, Federal Records, Military Records, and African American Research. Her education included a Bachelors of Arts in French and a Masters of Public Administration. She is preceded in death by her father, Mr. Richard O’Neal Emanuel and her sister, Ms. Mary Helen Mitchell. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Ora H. Emanuel, sister, Dr. Delic Loyde, brother, Mr. Richard O’Neal Emanuel Jr., nephew, Mr. Nolan Jager Loyde, and nieces, Ms. Cheyenne Williams and Ms. Nicole Braddock, as well as a host of great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives.
