

LEWISTON- David Dee 74, of Dill St. Lewiston, died at his home on Tuesday February 10, 2015 after a very sudden illness. He was born in Salem, MA on July 25, 1940 a son of the late William and Marguerite (Dwyer) Dee. He was educated in Auburn and graduated from Edward Little High School class of 1961. He proudly served his country in the US Marine Reserve. David was a police officer for the Auburn Police Department, as well as the chief of police for the Sabattus Police Department. He has been driving bus for many years, driving for Hudson Bus, Northeast Charter, where he drove The Lewiston Maneiacs Bus, and was most recently driving for The Oxford Hills School District. In his younger years he was a member of St. Joseph’s church in Lewiston. David was a member of The New Auburn Social Club, 20 M Club and the Pastime Club. He was a founding member of The Sabattus Rec. and enjoyed coaching for many years. He also enjoyed driving stock cars at Oxford Plains Speedway in his younger years. He leaves his daughter Kim Laberge and her husband Scott of Lewiston, two grandchildren Caleb and Corinne Laberge of Lewiston, his three sisters Judith Moreira and husband Donald of SC, Marguerite Murtagh and husband Patrick of AZ, and Kathryn Dee of FL, a sister in law Sally Dee of Auburn, his two former wives and dear friends Marlene Parent and Jane Burns, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Patricia Farringer, and three brothers William Dee, James “Warren” Dee and John “Jacky” Dee. Visitation Fortin Auburn Saturday May 2, from 9-11 AM. Funeral will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home.
