

Lewiston- G. William Lever Jr., 88, of 81 Marble St. died Saturday, December 10, at CMMC. He was born in Lewiston, October 4th, 1923. He is the son of the late George William Lever and Mabel (Hopwood) Lever. He was educated in Lewiston schools and graduated from Lewiston High School. After serving his country during WW II as a paratrooper in the U. S. Navy, he received his Honorable Discharge. On October 12, 1944, he married Alice Roy, and together they raised six children. G.W. “Bill” worked as a supervisor for New England Telephone retiring in 1984. He and Alice wintered in Florida during retirement and enjoyed visits from family and friends. An avid athlete in his early years, Bill played hockey for the Lewiston Maple Leafs, St. Doms Club and The Cyclones. Also baseball and later in life, golf. G.W. was known as a fierce “left handed” competitor, always needling his opponents. He enjoyed golfing with family and friends often at Martindale Country Club and was known as an exceptional putter. He will be remembered as a great family man and his love of animals; a “sharp” dresser and enjoying watching his children/grandchildren’s sporting events. He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Mynahan and husband, Patrick , of Poland, Lynn Lenhert and husband, John, of Auburn and Jaime Bolduc and husband, Tom , of Lewiston; his sons, Roy Lever and wife, Kathy, of Westwood, Mass., Jeff Lever and wife, Tammy, of Chandler, Ariz., and Scot Lever and wife Jennifer, of Goffstown, NH; his grandchildren, Erica, Arianne, Zack, Shannon, Sam, Justin, Meagan, Meredith, Amanda, Joseph, Breanna and Max and 7 great grandchildren. Besides his parents,he was predeceased by his wife, Alice and his grandson, Brendan Mynahan.
