George Luc Plourde Jr, 41 of Lewiston, passed away on October 28, 2020 at his residence.

George was born in Lewiston to George Sr. and Ann Marie Plourde on March 16, 1979. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1998. He married the love of his life Cecile (Edwards) on July 1, 2000 at Holy Family Church in Lewiston.

George was the proud owner of “My Uncle’s Construction Inc.”. The name stemmed from the fact that he learned the trade from his uncle’s and because of that George loved showing anyone who also wanted to take interest. He took a lot of pride in the work that he performed. Any time that we would drive around, he was so happy to point it out and show it off. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his boys showing them how to fish and embrace nature. He was so very proud of his sons. His pride beamed through whenever he was with them.

He loved cooking on the grill. We jokingly called him the “Grill Master”. He loved it so much that we were not surprised to see him outside shirtless in the middle of a snow storm cooking an amazing meal for his family. Spending time with family and friends by the fire was so very special to him.

Those waiting at the gate for him at his time of death were his brother Ryan Plourde, paternal grandfather Roger J Plourde, paternal grandmother Georgette Y Plourde, maternal grandfather Fernand Giguere, maternal grandmother Antoinette Giguere, father in law Kenneth C Edwards, Uncle Marcel Bilodeau, Aunt Lucienne Tremaine and Cousin Lori Plourde.

Those here missing his love are his loving wife Cecile (Edwards) Plourde and their two miracles George “Luc” Plourde III and Mason Plourde of Lewiston, his father George Plourde Sr and his partner Carliss Pelletier of Lewiston, his mother Anne Marie Plourde and her partner Brian Coffin of Topsham, his sister Jessie Plourde and her partner Danny Chabot along with his nieces Camilya Jimenez (also his goddaughter), Mya Jimenez, Madeline Chabot and his expecting nephew of Auburn, his mother in law Rose Edwards and her partner Randall Gallant of Turner, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at any Androscoggin Bank branch or mailed to Androscoggin Bank PO Box 1407 Lewiston Maine 04243 and payable to the George Plourde Memorial fund.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service.

Dear Georgie,
You were one of my best friends growing up. I always looked up to you as one of my greatest role models. You were my hero. You taught me so much about life. You showed me what it meant to be a good man.

I wish I could wake up and go fishing with you, cook some food on the smoker, light up a fat jibba, talk about life, listen to your advice, learn how to build something, and watch you be the most real and loving person I’ve ever met.
Maybe one day we will get another chance.
Maybe in another dimension life is still normal.
I hope that wherever you are, that life is good.
I love you.

My sincere condolences to the family of George. I first met George when he was a young boy. He lived near my parents and he would come over and play with my son Todd, who was about 6 years younger than George. He had a very special way with him, especially with the age gap, and my son looked up to him. I guess it was because George had a sister Todd's same age so he knew how to relate to younger kids. I had no doubt that George would grow up into a kind, special man. Barbara Casper.

Brother You Meant Mountains to me

You made me Appreciate that Blood doesn't make Family, "Family"!

Everything you did revolved around your Family.

That Family is the most Important thing in this World that We have.

The Fish in the Rivers, Streams, Lakes and Ponds that We Fished Will Never Bite the Same.

Anytime I was with George and either of us spotted a Bald Eagle; it was a sight to drop everything and behold it's beauty.
George was Proud to Leave a "Junk" fish on the ice for the Eagles!
George Loved Fishing. I'm very Proud for him to call me his friend. And in George's words, "his fishing buddy"!

I'll be keeping my Eyes to the Sky Buddy!

I know You're Soaring With the Eagles!

George being a man of few words and his passing has left countless including myself speechless.

George was GOLD!

Dear Cecile, George Sr., Marie, Tammy and family,

George was a phenomenal carpenter. The man could build a fence and/or a deck like nobody's business. I remembered a few years back when he built a deck at our house. I had one thing in mind at first, something simple. Then I kept changing my mind and adding and adding. He was patient, would say "you know it's going to cost you, right," smiled and did it with charging what he could have and I'd have happily paid. And when I sold the house a few years ago, it was that deck that was what people commented about the most.

But mostly, he loved sharing the trade with his boys. I'd often see Luc with him, and yes, sometimes you'd show up too, Cecile. He loved and was and IS proud of you all.

Please know Rick and Giselle and I are with you on this most difficult journey. He is with the and is now an angel now. We hold him and you all very dear.

Love from your work mom, Lena
