Lewiston - Jacqueline Carmen Therrien, 82, of Lewiston passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, January 20, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. She was born on August 11, 1940 in Lewiston, the daughter of Demetrius and Irene (Rioux) Chretien. She married the love of her life, Maurice Therrien on June 8, 1963 and they were married for 41 years before his passing.
She grew up in Lewiston and attended Catholic schools. She graduated from St. Dom’s in 1958. She worked for Lewiston Public Works before retiring in 2005. She was a lively lady who enjoyed line dancing and socializing with her friends. She found joy in many things in life, including reading, working in her beautiful flower beds, and “making” puzzles on her iPad to share with her family. Her favorite way to spend her time was surrounded by her children, granddaughter, and other family members.
She is survived by her daughters; Jeannine and Joseph Schaffer Jr. of Virginia, Sharon Vallee of Lewiston, and son Gerald Therrien and Heather Burr of Cumberland. She leaves behind a sister, Claudette Larochelle of Lewiston. She also leaves behind one granddaughter Ariana Vallee, step granddaughters Jessica and William Pulliam and Laura Howe, one step great granddaughter Mina Pulliam, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by her husband and parents.
