Jeannette Beaudoin (née Desrosiers), 91, of Lewiston, ME, passed away on April 26, 2024 peacefully at Androscoggin House. She was born on February 1, 1933, in St. Agatha, ME to Rose (née Chasse) and Joseph Desrosiers to a large French family.
Jan moved to Lewiston with her family and began her legacy as a devoted employee wherever she went. She worked in the Bates shoe shops and Mills making shoes, bed spreads, and sheets before landing the job that made her the happiest at Tambrands, where she worked for over 25 years until her retirement at 62. Even in retirement, Jan stayed busy, taking on part-time roles at Dunkin Donuts, Ramada Restaurant, and Shaws in Lewiston until she officially retired at 83. At Shaws, her infectious love for people shone through, and she often had a line of loyal customers waiting for her to cash them out. Particularly proud of her “Je parle francais” pin, she enjoyed engaging with anyone she met and worshiped at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston, ME, where she found solace and community. Jan fell in love with and married Ralph Arthur Beaudoin on November 22, 1951. They had 5 children: Roger, Janice, Ronald, Joline, and Judy, and were together until his death on November 26, 1994.
Outside of work, Jan pursued her hobbies with passion. She was renowned for her legendary meat pies, baking up to 50 during the holiday season for loved ones. Bowling was a favorite pastime, and she excelled as a championship senior bowler, proudly displaying her accomplishments on her keychain. A devoted Red Sox fan, she meticulously tracked game schedules to ensure she never missed a game, often attending games at Fenway Park and Hadlock Field and talking about her love for Big Papi while toting her favorite Red Sox purse and wallet. She might be most known at the bingo parlors, where she played every Friday night from age 16 to her time at Clover Manor, winning stuffed animals she would
display on the bed she made every morning.
