Cherished wife, mother, sister, and friend, Jeannine C. Dupuis was born in Lewiston on June 26th, 1946. She was the daughter of Gerard and Lillian (Ouellette) Gagne. She was educated through the local parochial schools: namely St. Peter’s and St. Dominic’s. She ventured into the labor force following her schooling. One of her first and most memorable working experiences was a summer spent living with friends and working retail at Old Orchard Beach. She later moved into manufacturing, dedicating many years at Tambrands, Inc. /Proctor & Gamble. She worked on the manufacturing floor and trained new hires. Her extreme patience with others while they were learning a new skill served her well as a trainer.
Family and friends meant everything to Jeannine. She treasured time spent with her dedicated husband, Gregory, going to the movies, going out to restaurants, getting together with friends, or simply relaxing together at home. She especially enjoyed travelling with Gregory and they took many trips to warm locations. Jeannine’s favorite trips were the ones to Aruba where she could fully relax and enjoy life on the beach with her loving husband. She held dear the time she spent with her daughters, Sherri and Tammy. Be it shopping, sitting and talking together, or chatting on the phone. She always took great pride in her daughters’ lives and being present for them. She wholeheartedly loved and enjoyed her granddaughter, Everleigh, through watching her adventures on various sports teams, letting her paint her fingernails and watching her learn and grow. She was extremely proud of her granddaughter’s kind and compassionate nature, her courage to try new things and her determination to do her best. Jeannine had a strong bond with her cousins gathering monthly over many years at Gipper’s Sports Grill. These outings brought her so much joy and time to connect with her greater extended family. Jeannine maintained many lasting friendships—friends she knew since childhood and many others she connected with through her work. Her friendships were like medicine to her soul. Jeannine looked forward to regular get-togethers with groups of friends, usually over breakfast, lunch or for cocktails. Jeannine loved Christmas—from shopping for others, to decorating, to making her yearly chocolate covered pretzels, she loved it all. Jeannine was always up for going to the casino and playing the lottery. She was always hopeful for that big win. Anyone who knows Jeannine knows that her favorite flowers were daisies; her favorite cocktail a Bacardi and diet coke in a tall set up with lots of ice and no lime; that she did not like to be cold and loved the beach, especially Old Orchard Beach. She could always be heard singing or humming songs, even if the words were of her own making. She always remembered and made time to send cards to loved ones for birthdays and anniversaries so that it would get through the mail on time. She was kind, caring, easy-going, giving, wanted others to get along and most of all wanted her family and friends to be happy and free from challenges. She will be missed eternally and forever in our hearts and memories. The family would like to thank both Maine Medical Center Special Care Unit and AndWell Hospice House for providing Jeannine with compassionate and gentle care.
