

LEWISTON – Liane Moreau, 94, formerly of Randall Road in Lewiston passed away Monday, February 2, 2015. Born in Lewiston on October 30, 1920, the daughter of Ernest and Lydia Heneault Toussaint she was the eldest of nine children. Liane married Romeo Moreau on May 30, 1943 who passed away on April 9, 2004. Liane was employed for many years as a weaver for Bates Manufacturing and retired from Arrowhart Electrical. A member of the Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she enjoyed playing cards with her brother, her sisters and a cousin two to three times per week. Liane enjoyed being surrounded by her family, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and she dedicated and volunteered many weekly hours to tidy the church until she reached 90 plus years. Her greatest joy came from her ministry as a Eucharistic Minister beginning in the early 1970’s when she delivered Holy Communion to the sick and the elderly while she was strong and healthy until she resigned at the age of 90. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne at Holy Family Parish until her early 90’s and she was crowned Sodalists-of-the-Year in 1998. In 2006 at age 86, Liane traveled to Rome with a church group which proved to be the adventure of her life. Survivors include her son, Maurice and his wife, Barbara Hebert Moreau, Robert and his wife Rosalie Buzzell Moreau, Patricia Moreau and her husband, Elmer Berry, Bertrand and his wife Suzanne LeCompte Moreau, Daniel and his wife, Louise Cyr Moreau and Richard and his wife, Paula Higgins Moreau. Besides her children survivors include six sisters, Mary Jane LeFebvre, Priscilla Jolicoeur, Sister Theresa Toussaint, Lorraine Quintal and husband, Wilfred, Constance Roy, Doris Saltis and husband Michael. She is also survived by a very close cousin and best friend, Charlotte Labbay. In addition, she is survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Liane was predeceased by her late husband, Romeo Moreau, her brother, Romeo Toussaint and her sister, Madeline Boulay.
