Lois Davis passed away on Monday December 8, 2025. Lois was surrounded by her loved ones including children, grandchildren, great-grandchild and cherished sister in her final weeks. She was 78 years old.
Lois was born January 16, 1947, in Poland, Maine to Winslow Frank and Louise Thomptson. She married Richard A. Davis on November 9, 1963. Lois and Richard made homes across the country and world living in Okinawa, Japan, Delaware, and North Dakota before eventually returning to Maine. No matter the location Lois always found time for her favorite hobbies including birding, camping, fishing, painting ceramics, gardening and most importantly spending time with her family.
Throughout Lois’s life she dedicated herself to maintaining a wonderful home, meticulous yard, and meticulous head of hair. She cherished sharing her favorite hobbies with her loved ones and brought her family together by cooking delicious meals. These always included roasts and her famous pressure-cooker carrots & potatoes. Throughout her life, Lois’s tenacity ensured she never let any obstacle get in her way. More recently, she found much joy spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Lois’s devotion to and love for her family (pets too) will be sorely missed.
Lois was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, and brothers Robert and Eric Frank. She is survived by her sister Joan Audet of Carrabelle, Florida, Winslow Frank Jr. of Vermont, daughter Lisa Shorey of Monmouth, Maine, son Richard L. Davis and his wife Candi Davis, of Auburn, Maine, grandchildren Heather Shorey and her partner Eli Leveston, of Readfield, Maine, Brynn Davis of Auburn, Maine, and great-granddaughter Adeline Leveston of Readfield, Maine.
