

LEWISTON - Marguerite Evelyn (Robichaud) Roderick joined the Lord on Sunday, September 4 at 2:35 p.m. at Marshwood Nursing Home in Lewiston, where she had resided for the past 18 months. Marguerite battled many illnesses over the past 38 years which weakened her body, but never her spirit. Marguerite was born on December 27, 1939 to Annie (Cyr) Robichaud and Elie Robichaud of Augusta. She spent her early years living in Biddeford, eventually returning to Augusta. She graduated from Cony High School in 1958. In 1960 she married her high school sweetheart Richard Roderick. They celebrated their 56th anniversary this past July. Together they had two children, Thomas and Tammy. They lived and worked in Augusta until the summer of 1974 when they moved to Ticonderoga, New York. Marguerite and Richard returned to Maine in 1989, settling in Lewiston. Throughout her life Marguerite worked as a secretary/administrative assistant in a variety of settings. Upon her return to Maine, Marguerite secured employment at Central Maine Medical Center where she worked in Medical Records and her final position was as the Executive Secretary for the Vice President of Marketing until her retirement.
In her free time, Marguerite enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking, playing cards, spending time with her daughter and granddaughters, and traveling with her husband Richard. Over the years Marguerite enjoyed participating in various organizations including The Daughter's of Isabella and the Red Hat Society. Marguerite leaves behind Richard, her husband of 56 years; her daughter Tammy Levasseur and her husband Daniel of Lewiston; granddaughter Courtnay Putnam of Monmouth; granddaughter Catherine Putnam of Lewiston; three sisters: Florence Lahaye and her husband Larry of Augusta; Cecile Vachon and her husband Roger of Augusta; Joan Drouin and her husband Arthur of Farmingdale; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her son Thomas; her parents Annie and Eli as well as several of her sisters and brothers. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, from 4-7pm at Fortin/AUBURN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 9, at 11 am at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. A committal will immediately follow at Holy Family Cemetery in Augusta.
