

Merton David Robinson, age 91, passed away suddenly on December 25, 2025, in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Born on February 19, 1934, in Brunswick, Maine, Merton was the beloved son of Morris and Rebecca (Singer) Robinson. He was a resident of North Attleboro, Massachusetts.
Merton grew up in Lisbon Falls, Maine, and graduated from Lisbon High School. He furthered his education at the University of Maine, Orono, where he served as the class president in 1955. Merton proudly served in the Army and worked at the Pentagon.
His professional career included management roles in various companies, culminating as the president of Ocean State Steel in East Providence, Rhode Island. In retirement, he owned and operated the Robinson Group Real Estate Company.
Merton was an avid follower of New England sports and the University of Maine Black Bears hockey team. He enjoyed politics, reading, and was particularly fond of playing cribbage. He was cherished for his storytelling, which was enjoyed by family and friends alike.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Ruest) Robinson; his son, Peter Robinson; his stepchildren, Howard T. Harrop Jr. and spouse Suzanne, and Jacqueline Barbaria and spouse James. He was predeceased by his son, Mark Robinson, and granddaughter, Emily Harrop.
Merton leaves behind his grandchildren, Ryan Barbaria and spouse Yuko, John Harrop and spouse Megan, Zachary Barbaria and fiancée Sierra Warren, and Jay Barbaria and spouse Suthida. He was a proud great-grandfather to Natsume Barbaria, Emma Barbaria, Anne Barbaria, Beau Harrop, and Judah Barbaria.
He is also survived by his niece, Janice (Kamin) Scavongelli and spouse Gary; nephews, James Kamin and spouse Susan, and Donald Kamin and spouse Wendi. He was predeceased by his sister, Judith (Robinson) Kamin of Brunswick, Maine.
Merton will be interred at Beth Abraham Cemetery in Auburn, Maine. A Funeral Service will be held at a later date.
Merton will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his community, and his many passions. He will be dearly missed.
