Portland - Paul R. Theriault, 73, of Lewiston, died Friday October 8, 2010 at Maine Medical Center following a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lewiston on August 20, 1937, a son of Roland and Emelda (Tetreault) Theriault. He was educated in local catholic schools graduating from St. Dominics High School, class of 1957. He enlisted in the U.S Marine Corps proudly serving his country until 1963 when he received his Honorable Discharge. He married the love of his life the former Madeleine Nadeau on September 15, 1962 at St. Peter's Church. He spent most of his working life at Lewiston Crushed Stone, a family owned Construction Company, working alongside his father and his brother Adrien. After the business was sold he worked for Pike Industries for several years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish in Lewiston and The Lewiston Social Club. In his younger years he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a collector of many things and enjoyed taking pictures, watching movies and sporting events, spending time on his computer, but what was most special to him was the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife of 48 years, Madeleine, he is survived by 5 children: Danny Theriault and his wife Melissa of Lewiston, David Theriault of Lewiston, Louise Boucher and her husband Raymond of Lewiston, Glen Theriault of Turner, Christine Theriault and her companion Matt Ferguson. Seven grandchildren: Troy, Ryan, Taylor, Destinee, Shayla, Halie and Grady several nephews, nieces, cousins, brother and sister in laws.He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Adrien Theriault. Theriault, Paul R., 73, of Lewiston died on October 8. Visitation to be held at Fortin/Auburn on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 11 PM at Prince of Peace Parish Holy Family Church, followed by committal services at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Dominic Academy or to the charity of your choice in Paul's Memory.
