

GREENE: Raymond Dufour, 83, of College Road, died September 18, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lewiston on August 28, 1932, a son of the late Augustine and Eva Dufour. He worked and lived most of his life in the Lewiston area, and in 1951 he married his wife of 58 years, Laurette Bergeron. Raymond worked at Pepsi Cola for many years, then started his own business ”B & R Carpet” , and retired from the Carpenter Union. After retiring, he traveled to nearly every state in the nation with his wife Laurette in their motor home and he enjoyed fishing and exploring Alaska. They wintered in Florida for the past 30 years. Raymond was a devoted Catholic who recognized that faith in the good works of God could be found in his family, his friends, and in the world around him. He was always the first person to provide a kind word, a supportive shoulder, or open a door to those in need. He is survived by his loving children, Dot Fernald and Husband Vic Labrecque, Don Dufour and his wife Michelle, Dan Dufour and his wife Rose Marie, Diane Barnies and her husband Chuck, Paul Cote and his wife Doris, Doris St Pierre and her husband George. Grandchildren; Tom Mathieu, Lisa Mathieu, Ray Robert and wife Sarah, Scott Robert and Erika, Jason and wife Erika, Corey Dufour, Aimee Dufour, Carrie Quagliarole and husband Shawn, Rosemarie Murphy, George St. Pierre, Diane Bureau and her husband Dan, Denise Cote, and Paul Cote. He was blessed with 20 great-grandchildren. Nathan, Ashlee, Jack, Sammy, Zack, Hudson, Charlie, Kassandra, Danny, Abigail, Jace, Julia, Justin, Tania, Kenzie, Kane, Sean, Joe, Josh and Rachel. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Laurette, his brothers; Florian, Marcel, Don, Victor, and Roger and a sister, Marie. Visiting hours will be held at Fortin\Auburn on Tuesday September 22 from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Wednesday September23 at 11am. Interment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery at a later date.
