

1943-2022
Robert R. “Bob” Simoneau, lovingly called Pepere by many, passed away with his family at his side on Monday, January 17, 2022.
He was born on June 26, 1943 in Lewiston, Maine the son of Romeo and Eva (Bedard) Simoneau. He attended St. Dominic Academy all through school, graduating in 1961. He served six years in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1970. He worked for twenty-five years as a warehouse manager at Knapp Shoe in Lewiston.
On June 1, 1994 he married his beloved wife, Donna, he enjoyed 27 years of marriage and became father to her children, Brian and Carrie. Bob was known as a deeply devout Catholic, who loved and supported his family with every breath he took. He loved the many years he served as the Sexton of Holy Family Church. He studied and became a member of the Discalced Carmelite Secular Order in December of 2000. Spending time in prayer with his wife, attending daily mass, and caring for his grandchildren were his favorite ways to spend his days. Bob and Donna also volunteered at St. Martin De Porres shelter for over 10 years. They cooked dinner for the people in the shelter once a week. He will be forever loved and deeply missed.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Donna (VanNess) Simoneau, his children, Brian Genest Sr., Carrie Peloso and her husband Jamie Peloso, his grandchildren, Brian Genest Jr, Zachary Danse, Isabella Ivey, Rebecca Ivey, Domenic Peloso, and Jaimelyne Shanks, and his cousin Ann Caldwell and family.
He is predeceased by his parents Romeo, and Ava (Bedard) Simoneau, his sister, Cecile Hamel, and his brother Roland Comeau.
A visitation will be held Tuesday the 25th from 6-8PM at The Fortin Group, Auburn, 217 Turner St., with a mass being held at Holy Cross at 11AM on Wednesday the 26th with a burial at St. Peters Cemetery following the Mass.
