

Lewiston-Roger K. Robinson, 87, formerly of Fortin Way, Lewiston and of Schooner Estates, Auburn died on May 17th 2015. Roger was born in Portland, ME on February 16, 1928, husband of Martha Jack Robinson and son of George E. and Janet G. (Hanson) Robinson. He was a graduate of Portland High School, class of 1946 and of Northeastern Business College, Portland, ME in 1954. He worked for Grand Trunk Railroad (Canadian National Railway) for 34 years retiring in 1988. He was a devote Christian and member of the former St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lewiston, ME where he was a participant of the Resurrection Choir. Roger was a veteran of the Korean War where he served as a Corporal in the US Army from 1950-1952. Roger took great pride that his name is inscribed on a stone in the Veterans Park in Lewiston, ME. Roger took great joy in his family and delighted in many things including gardening, reading, bird watching, classical music, organ concerts (especially the summer concerts at the Basilica) and attending plays at the Community Little Theater. Roger had a great interest and love for history. In 2007 he and his wife successfully completed training as Docents for the Portland History program. He enjoyed memberships in the Andros Historical Society, CLT, Marston-Kotzhman Club, FOCO, and Victoria Mansion. In his later years he enjoyed eating out at local restaurants and savoring dessert treats like ice cream and cookies. Surviving are his wife, Martha J. Robinson, his son Bruce C. Robinson and his wife Karlyn Robinson of Myrtle Beach, SC., grandchildren Bradford Robinson and Heather (Robinson) Hoffman, great grandchildren Addison Hoffman and Ivy Hoffman, two brothers Donald Robinson and his wife Nancy of CA., and Lawrence Robinson of Idaho and by well-loved dear friends and many “family members of the heart.” Predeceased by his parents (listed above), by his sister Dorothy Mae, and his first wife Marguerite, and his sister-in-law Elaine Robinson.
