

Auburn - Russell G. Gagnon 88, of Lewiston, died Monday at the Androscoggin Hospice House with his family by his side. Born in Westbrook, March 8, 1927 a son of Edouard & Valerie Mineault Gagnon he was educated in Lewiston schools. Mr. Gagnon was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Cross Church, and worked as a salesman for Coke, Lepage Bakery, owned franchise for Pepperidge Farm, then courier for Fleet Bank retiring in 1991. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Lewiston Council 106 for many years. He enjoyed family, camping, traveling, snowmobiling, Red Sox and Bruins and his hot fudge sundae. Dad will be remembered for his sense of humor, his wit, and love of animals. He was always there to help anyone. He is survived by his wife the former Cecile Laplante of Lewiston whom he married May 30, 1950, his four daughters, Connie Lynch and husband Dennis of Greene, Pauline Jalbert and husband Norm of Lewiston, Rachel Hill and husband Alan of Turner, Nancy Boucher of Lewiston, six grandchildren, Shawn, Kevin and Bryan Lynch, Ashleigh and Amanda Hill, Abbey Jae Boucher, 6 great-grandchildren, his sister Cecile L'Heureux and husband Louis of Brunswick. He was predeceased by his mom and dad, grandson Jason Jalbert, sisters Annette Desjardins, Lorraine Tardif, an his brother Marcel Gagnon.
