

Portland- Sandra G. Douglas 74, of Falmouth died Friday January 2, 2015 at The Cedars Nursing Home. She was born in Lewiston on April 26, 1940 a daughter of the late Norman B. and Evelyn (Whitten) Smith. She was educated in Auburn and graduated from Edward Little High School class of 1958. She then went on to receive her Bachelor’s in Education graduating from Gorham Teacher's College in 1962. Sandra married George Douglas on July 21, 1962, together they raised their family while residing in Falmouth. She taught in the Portland schools in her younger years and after her children were older she was a substitute teacher for the Falmouth Schools. Sandra enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Little Wilson Pond and also spending time at Barker Pond. Also, she enjoyed going to garage sales and braiding carpets by hand. Sandra loved spending time with her family including watching her three grandchildren grow through the years. She leaves her husband of 52 years George Douglas of Falmouth, her two sons Randy Douglas of Portland and Craig Douglas and his wife Laurie of Gorham, three grandchildren: Cameron Coro, Connor Coro and Hilary Douglas, a brother Forest Smith of Buxton, and dear friends Sunny and Fred Vose of Brunswick. She was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Evelyn Smith.
