

Lewiston-Scott Toby Tiner 30 of Lake St. Auburn died Monday Nov. 17, surrounded by his loving family after a brief and sudden illness, at Central Maine Medical Center. He was born in Lewiston on December 28, 1983 a son of Toby and Linda (Dumont) Tiner Sr. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Edward Little High School class of 2002. While at EL he played varsity basketball and coached basketball for the YMCA. In his earlier years he was also a three time free throw champion in 1993, 94 & 95. He was very proud of this achievement. Scott was the founder of Platznation, a coed softball team that was unbeatable. The Nation was one the most successful coed softball teams for many years, and took great pride in all the teams many accomplishments. His team was like family to him and he looked forward to every game that he played with them. Scott loved spending time with his son Tysen, whether it was coaching his little league team, rough housing together, or just relaxing at home. They had an amazing bond and he often referred to Tysen as "my man". He enjoyed driving his Mustang, which he was very passionate and meticulous about. He was an avid sports fan especially when it came to his NY Giants, Red Sox and Celtics. Attending games was always something he looked forward to, especially the surprise trips he took to The Red Sox games the last two years as a fathers day gift with his dad. Scott also took great pride in the home that he shared with Lindsey and Tysen, always having a home improvement project he was working on. He leaves his mother Linda Tiner and her husband Al Richard of Hebron, his father Toby Tiner Sr. and his companion Stephanie Cole of Auburn, his true love and soul mate for the past 11 years Lindsey Cormier and their amazing son Tysen Toby Tiner both of Auburn, a brother Toby Tiner Jr. and wife Vicki of Auburn, a sister Debbi Murphy and husband Tom of Auburn, two nephews Drew Tiner and Bryce Gibson, his maternal grandmother Hanna Dumont of Mechanic Falls, several aunts, uncles & cousins, and four very close friends: Shane Ciriello, Joe Locke, Joe "Bunz" Rathbun, and JJ Varney and many more friends and teammates who he truly adored. Visitation Fortin Auburn Friday Nov. 21, from 2-4 & 7-9. A Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday Nov. 22 at 10 AM at East Auburn Baptist Church 560 Park Ave. Auburn. The family has asked for all of Scott's softball team members to please wear their uniforms to the service on Saturday. Committal will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
