Auburn - Shirley E. Rizzolo, age 76 of Lewiston, left us peacefully Friday morning March 9th to join her husband Michael in the hands of God. She was born in Caribou Maine, January 21, 1936, the daughter of Euthrope and Anna (Bouchard) Ouellette. She was educated in Maine Schools then went on to Mrs. Ethel Richard’s Secretarial School. This training assisted her in gaining employment with Geiger Bros. as the switchboard operator where eventually she and Michael would meet and fall in love. They wed on April 4, 1959 and started their wonderful family and memorable life on Buttonwood Lane where they spent nearly 50 years. Shirley had a 23 year career working for Weight Watchers of Maine as a lecturer and earned her way up to Regional Supervisor, a position she, her family, and her friends were very proud of. She was an outgoing lady and a real people person with a spunky personality and a big heart. She loved the people she met and the friends she made through Weight Watchers. Her greatest joys were clearly her loving relationships with her family, grandchildren, and great grand children, her daily Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, anything to do with Elvis Presley and the company of her pup Callie. She boasted an incredible sense of humor and a yodel that would make Carol Burnett jealous. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister , friend and will be sadly missed but remembered and cherished forever. She leaves behind two daughters Carrie Haynes and husband Jerry of Minot, Susan Levasseur of Lewiston, and one son Chris Rizzolo and his fiancée Lauri Castonguay of Lewiston; seven grandchildren John, Nicole, Matt, Kaylynn, Lauren, Chelsey and Isabella; three great-grandchildren Mallory, Emma and Hayley;three sisters Norma Devoe and husband George of Lewiston, Alice Rodrigue of Lewiston and Evelyn Curless and husband Phil of Lisbon, a brother Joseph Ouellette of Lewiston, as well as several nieces, nephews, sister and brother in-laws. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Michael in 2007 as well as several brothers and sisters. The family wishes to thank her special nurse Lisa from Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, Dr. Pamela Ross, Dr. Austin and all the nurses and staff at The Hospice House for the care, compassion and support shown to Shirley and her family.
