Therese Bertha Hamel Auger

AUBURN – Therese B. Auger passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2015 at her home in Auburn. Born in Lewiston, ME on May 3, 1932 the daughter of Samuel and Bertha Hamel. She attended local schools graduating from Lewiston High School in 1951. After graduating Therese worked for the Auburn School Department with the hot lunch program and in the office at Lee Honda. Therese was a member of St. Louis, Holy Family & Sacred Heart Church; she served as the Secretary for the New Auburn Senior Citizens and was recently working in the kitchen cooking for their gatherings. She loved to play bingo and travel to the Oxford Casino whenever she had the chance. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, (the love of her life) of 62 years Andre Auger whom she married on June 21, 1952; two daughters Amanda Auger of Auburn, Marie and her husband David Dittmer of Scarborough, 4 sons Roger Auger of Old Orchard, Maurice* and his wife Doreen of Alfred, Lucien and his wife Peggy of NC, and Roland and his wife Joleen of Waterboro, 1 brother Donald and his wife Brenda Hamel of NH, 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren children. Daughter in Law Joyce Auger of Gorham and Son in Law Calvin Gray of North Monmouth. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her parents and a daughter Annette Auger. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday Feb 27th 10am at Sacred Heart Church followed by committal at St. Peters Cemetery.
