Dolores A. Gonzales

Dolores Gonzales, age 83, of Austin, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Riverside Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Austin on Friday, July 5, 2013. She was born March 6, 1930 in Austin, Texas.

Dolores retired from the City of Austin after 20 years of service. She loved sewing, gardening, arts and crafts and traveling. She was a beloved mother, wife, daughter, and a friend to many. She was caring, loving, supportive and giving. She is loved dearly by her family and friends whom will truly miss her.

Dolores is predeceased by her parents, Manuel and Emma; her son, Roy Rodela; and her beloved husband, Cruz Gonzales.

She is survived by her daughter, Virginia (Cleo) Hill; three sons, Manuel (Alice) Rodela, Robert (Felipa) Rodela, and Dr. Charles (Yolanda) Rodela; also surviving her are her 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 2013 with recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2013 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Committal service to follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
