Beatrice Torres Urias

Beatrice Torres Urias passed away on September 11th, 2023 at the age of 97. She was born in Lincoln, California on July 31st, 1926, and lived most of her life in California in Santa Maria, Pico Rivera, and Bakersfield.

Anyone who knew Bea would agree that her generosity was endless and her passion was giving, in any way she could. She never hesitated to share whatever she had, whether it was a piece of sweet bread or the cookies that she always kept in her house. Her home was always the place the family would gather. Besides Bea’s well-known love of sweets, she also enjoyed cooking, listening to music, and watching novellas every night before bed. The majority of her lifetime was dedicated to caring for her children and grandchildren, helped by her third husband, Alfred.

Bea goes to join her husband, Alfred Urias, her father and mother, Francisco and Rosalia Torres, her brothers Frank and Alfred Torres, and her children Dolores Smith and Mario Jimenez.

She is survived by her four children Grace Moreno (Al Moreno), Esther Hinojosa (Dan Hinojosa), Steve Urias (Reyna Urias), Gloria Miranda (Mike Miranda), 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306 on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 4:00-8:00pm (Rosary at 6pm). Mass will be held on Friday, September 29th, 2023 at 10:00am at Saint Francis Roman Catholic Church, 900 H Street, Bakersfield, CA 93304.
