Born April 29, 1946 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Charles Joseph Turner-Papa Joe-went home March 21, 2026. He was 79 years old and resided in Bakersfield, CA.
Papa loved a good joke, and that laugh of his was contagious. Although a bit of a trickster, Papa was also a man of routine, order, and meticulous care, especially when it came to the people he loved. It didn't matter what or when-if we needed Papa, he was there.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Susie Turner; his eldest son, Branden Turner; and the five grandchildren and three great grandchildren he adored so much. He was preceded in death by his twin sons, Jarrett and Jeremy Turner, whom he longed to see. Happy reunion, Papa. Until we all meet again. Donadagohvi.
A memorial service will be held March 31st at 9:00 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest & Hillcrest Memorial Park.
