Nogales, Arizona to the late Juan and Guadalupe Gutierrez. Connie was one of 11 brothers and sisters.
In 1980, she married the late Jesus Felix Gomez on October 11th, and they had three children,
Richard Felix, Andrew Joseph, and Corina Ann Gomez.
Connie was a faithful employee at Wal-Mart for more than 20 years. She started as a member on
the sales floor and then moved up to Department Manager. She was known for her strong work ethic
and love for people.
Connie was a loyal participant of the annual Relay for Life fundraiser in Bakersfield. She survived
pancreatic (2000) and breast cancer (2013), and with a survivor's spirit she fought her battle with bone
cancer (2015). Family and friends were inspired by her strength and her undying love for God.
She was a member of Valley Bible Fellowship for 11 years. She loved to gather with her bible study group,
pray, worship, and read her bible.
Connie was blessed to find love again and married Abel Santa Cruz Felix on February 7, 2014. Connie was
the definition of a lovely person. Her spirit, her love, her dance moves, and her infectious smile will be greatly
missed, by her husband, children, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends.
